When the Grass is Growing Slowly
Move the Super Chicken Tractor to a new piece of grass every day.
Use a 14 day rotation. That means that the chicken will see the same piece of grass once every two weeks. This gives the grass time to absorb the fertilizer and recover from grazing.

When the Grass is Growing Fast
Late Spring Through Early Fall, or Warm Climates
Move the Super Chicken Tractor to a new piece of grass every other day.
Use a 7 day rotation. That means that the chicken will see the same piece of grass once every two weeks. This gives the grass time to absorb the fertilizer and recover from grazing.
When the Grass is Not Growing
Option 1: Move the Super Chicken Tractor to a new piece of grass every day. Use a 28 day rotation. That means that the chickens will see the same piece of grass once every four weeks. The grass will have to wait to absorb these nutrients until it starts growing again. This gives the poop a chance to partly decompose before more is added to the same spot.
Option 2: Leave the Super Chicken Tractor in one spot. This is not quite as good, since the poop will kill out the grass where it is located. However, you will have a big pile of poop to put on your garden in the spring. This method should be reserved for climates where it is hard to move the tractor because of snow or mud.
We prefer to stick the Super Chicken Tractor in our fenced garden, opening the door during the day to let our chickens work up the entire garden and fertilize it for spring.
